“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork.”
When I think of the word authority, I think about someone who is in a higher power over me. Someone who has the right to tell me what to do and how to do it. I want you to take a minute and think about everyone and anyone who has or had authority in your life. Now that you’ve done that, did the name God ever come up? God should have the biggest authority in our lives.
In Psalm 19:1a its says, “The heavens declare the glory of God.” God’s creation understands that He is the almighty One; that He came and created every living thing not just here on this earth but also the galaxy and far beyond. Romans 1:20 says, “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.” It is amazing to know that even a ant understands that it was created by our Lord and Savior.
But of course, man is stubborn and stiff-necked. In this world, people desire to see a god rather than just trust that God is there watching over us. People try to do things with their own strength because they feel they’re not going anywhere but that is not how God intended them to live their lives. As Christians, we believe that God is there even if we don’t see Him or understand His plan for our lives. We trust that He will lead us in the right direction even if life seems slow at the moment. He has given us the bible, which shows His authority and the beautiful promises that He has for us as His children. The bible has all that we need to know what He expects from us and what He desires to see in us. As Christians, we are to obey what the Word of God says. We are to study the bible so that we can share with others what God has in store for all of us.
God has full authority over all the earth including Satan and the demons that roam the earth. But does He have full authority over your life too? If so then you are His. He has you and will strengthen you with His might if you let Him. Life can be so simple if you allow God to have full reign over your life. All He asks is that you give all that you have to Him and allow Him to work in you life.
At this time I would like you to pray to God. Ask Him to help you let go of anything that is hindering you from allowing God to have full authority over your life. Ask Him to take full control and not let yourself get distracted by your sinful nature. There are so many things in this world that we don’t understand, but what I understand is that as long as I stay close to God, He will protect me and I will find refuge in His wings. God’s authority is Him protecting me from the dangers of our enemy.
I pray that you open your hearts to God so that you may be able to see all that He can do in your life!
