“Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her: “Many daughters have done well, But you excel them all.”” ~Proverbs 31:28-29
Happy birthday to the beautiful woman in the middle, my mom! This woman here has been my biggest supporter and a wonderful example of a godly woman. I know some days she feels like she is doing an awful job at being a wife and mom but I don’t see that. She is loved by so many people. Even my friends talk to her more than my sister and I! My friends and I know that we can always count on her for prayer and godly advice through scripture.
My mom has never been the TV mom that lets her kids do whatever and say whatever. She has never been unfair and she has never “ruined my life” like most teens say on TV and in movies. My mom has taught us how to be ladies. She made sure we knew how to act around certain people. My mom taught us that the guy comes to you not the other way around and she never sugar coated anything. I love her for that! She kept us very much aware of what was going on in the world so that when things came up we knew how to handle the situation and defend our faith. She made sure that our walk with God was strong above all. Being homeschooled from kindergarten to 12 grade has really benefited my sister and I. Everyday was a life lesson with her whether the day was good or bad. We were constantly talked about God and some days all we did was study His word rather than do school (we doubled up the following day). Because my sister and I were homeschooled, she really got to work with us one on one working out any flaws or problems we had. She was able to teach us how to study the Bible rather than just learning the stories. By the time we were in high school she had us listening to our pastor’smessages and the women’s studies from our women’s retreats for school. She did everything in her power to make sure that we knew who God was and what He has done for us.
I know that she wishes she would have had us be more disciplined in school but I also know that she wouldn’t change a thing. My mom didn’t strive for children who were geniuses in every subject. She strived to see her children walking on that straight and narrow with our Lord and Savior.
Mom I know I say this all the time but your really are the best mom ever! You truly are a Proverbs 31 Woman! I’ve been honored to call you my mom. Thank you for your constant love and support and all your exhortation. You know me so well and always know what I need even when I don’t see it. Thank you for the joy you bring to my life. Without your jokes, crazy snapchats, and cute laugh, life would be very dull. I love you and thank you for all that you have done in my life! Happy birthday!! ❤️
